A couple of months ago I shared with you Sally's gorgeous baby bump. I just adore pregnancy, and photographing this time in a womans life, the glow and beauty is second only to the excitement of bringing new life into the world. However, pregnancy has been a much more intense journey for Sally, her husband Simon and their little boy Angus. You see, Angus has a big sister, Hope.
Hope died while Sally was in labour at full term after a text book pregnancy, and the excitement and joy of meeting her newborn baby changed in an instant to a range of emotion I can't even begin to imagine myself. In a split second Sally and Simon's lives changed. It's fair to say that pregnancy changed for Sally from that moment.
Fast forward three years, one day before Hope's 3rd birthday; Sally, Simon and Angus welcomed baby Juliet Lily into their family. Baby Juliet looks a lot like her big brother and sister, utterly adorable and perfect in every way. As I edited through the photographs after our newborn session I had to stop for a moment on a few photos, seeing how much Juliet looks like her big sister from the beautiful heartfelt images Sally had shared, and some of her little expressions were like looking at Angus in miniature. Sally and Simon really do make beautiful babies, and it was an absolute pleasure to be able to capture these images of such a gorgeous little family.
