Lucas ~ A Baby is Love Made Visible. {Melbourne Newborn Photographer}

Sweet baby Lucas, another little bundle who was eager to be photographed, he arrived around 5 weeks early and only a couple of days after his mum booked in his session, thinking she had a few weeks up her sleeve. (Don't you love how babies run the show so soon?)

Lucas was 4 weeks old at his session and only a few days shy of his official 'due date'. He'd only arrived home from hospital around a week earlier and was a dream to photograph.

I went to school with Tammy, Lucas's mum, and it was wonderful to catch up with her, find out what the old 'crew' are up to. Only a couple of us have entered the world of parenthood, and it was so lovely to be able to capture these moments for an old friend entering such a precious stage of life with her new baby boy, and her adoring husband.

Baby Cullen ~ Baby boy blue. {Melbourne Newborn Photographer}

When I arrived at Cullen's session I was warned by his parents not to expect him to sleep... how wrong they were... I just had to pull out a few of my tried and true tricks and calm, and before too long he was dreaming away the session, even with his big sister Nyah running around and talking off everyones ear. I love toddlers, and she was well and truly entitled to a few shots all for herself, such a little character.

Cullen is certainly very lucky to have a big sister so besotted by him, and I'm sure he'll learn to love being kissed and cuddled all over as he grows... or not. :)

Baby Elodie ~ new life is your heart walking outside your body. {Melbourne Newborn Photographer}

Ahhh, sweet little Elodie (her name is French, and suits her well), how lovely it was to photograph this precious little creature. Her parents besotted, the cat's not so sure... and me, in my element. Honestly, being able to photograph new life, and new families sometimes doesn't feel like work at all. Elodie made me work hard to begin with, but slowly eased right in to her role as model for her session. I loved her room, where we set up for the session, and loved being to be able to incorporate elements of her decorated room into her session. It made for another touch of what makes a house a home... and clearly this little girl's effect on her parents will make any house a home as long as they are all together in it.

Baby Elsie ~ There's nothing so sweet as the love of a child.

There was one thing that struck me when I arrived at Elsie's session, the love. I know that sounds a little cliche but to watch the moments unfold and see the way mum and dad were besotted by their baby girl was truly beautiful to watch. Clearly this sweet little baby girl is much loved, but there was something magical in the love surounding this family that I only hope I have been able to capture a glimpse of.

These images of family move me every time I look over them.
