Just a little something else on offer

Have you ever wondered why no one ever dotes about how cute your new baby is in those standard 'hospital issue' photos? It's because they're all the same formula and they're all so unnatural, and you're given all of about 2 minutes to get a shot; ANY shot.

That's why having a newborn photo session and using one (or two) of your favourite photos as your birth announcement, or even thank-you card can be such a good idea.

I was asked to create a little something for baby Kate and had even done the same for my own children; refusing the hospitals offer. It's a much more precious keepsake for family and friends, and captures your child, not some swaddled newborn who; let's face it could be anyone's. (I have a similar sentiment towards 'Pixie Photos' and other shopping centre stalls that offer a photo session under bright lights and popping a baby in a basket with a flower on their head.)

I came up with a little something and plan to expand the idea as part of a package for newborn sessions. They can be printed as 6x4's or 3x2's.

Alexandra Zoe

Meet the beautiful Alexandra Zoe, born on the 5th of November 2010. What a precious little gift she is, and a delight to photograph. The first images were taken when she was only 3 days old while still in hospital and the following were taken at home when she was 9 days old. This is the most amazing time to photograph a baby, they are so tiny and sweet, and by spending an afternoon to capture countless images it's enough to send any woman even a little clucky.

Dylan - the NEW black

Introducing the new black - Dylan. This little bundle of fun arrived in the big wide world on the 20th of May (only a couple of weeks before Tish and Dante's wedding - see following post). He's already been the subject of many photos and is destined to be just as photographed as his big sister; Lily. Stay tuned for some more fun filled posts of the two little monkeys. My poor children have grown up with a camera in their face so it's sure to continue... it's great practice.
