Master Cody - 6 month session.

I can't believe how quickly time has gone. It feels like only yesterday I was photographing Cody's newborn session and he's already 6 months old! Kelly (Cody's mum) is a very photography minded woman, her house is full of photos of her children, and was quick to ask me to photograph Cody after he was born. She then told me of her idea to do follow up photographs every three months over the first year. Of course I love this idea, and have done similar with my own children, though naturally they've grown up with a camera in their faces from day one. Children change so quickly, especially within the first year, so this is a great way to capture the changes.

newborn, 3 months and 6 months.

Six months is a pretty fun time to photograph, you can begin to see the character emerge and who can resist that cute little chubby grin?

Cindy and Troy (Bacchus Marsh engagement photography)

I almost didn't recognise Cindy when I met her and her fiance Troy in Bacchus Marsh for their engagement session. I am so used to seeing her in her a "Kids Retreat" uniform when I drop my children off at childcare, that seeing her looking an absolute treat with her make-up all done made me do a double take. (I can only imagine how stunning she's going to look on her wedding day.)

Cindy is possibly Lily's favourite teacher at childcare, she always seems to come home with excited chatter about what Cindy did with them that day and I think Lily hit it off straight away with her when Cindy was allocated to her room at childcare last year. Cindy is always such a happy face to see when we arrive at childcare, and last year I remember the extra bubbly chatter from Lily as she told me that Cindy got "endaged" (engaged in Lily speak).

Troy proposed to Cindy on the 10th of the 10th 2010, and I'm not exactly sure of when it became official that I would photograph their wedding, but it seemed we were chatting about details from the moment a date was set. Cindy and Troy were so easy to work with, I just know we're going to have a blast on their wedding day in November. (stay tuned for that blog post!)

Guess who's pregnant....

After getting inspiration from a concept I saw on Beatrice de Guigne's blog I had a flash of an idea. Now that she's photographed Ken and Barbie's wedding, I took the premise that Barbie and Ken have decided to start having babies. So, who'd be asked to shoot the maternity session for gorgeous 'Barbie'? You can imagine my delight when I was given the opportunity to capture some images of the slender icon in all her maternal glory.

This was a fantastic chance for me to try out some light and poses and angles for some 'real life' maternity sessions. It was a bit of fun to play with my daughters Barbie and the shoot was a surprisingly good experience as far as position and angle... Can you imagine a new childrens toy... Pregnant Barbie? She'd no doubt have her hands full with all the careers she has on the go.

Bambina/Bambino? Sapienza

This session was shot over a month ago, and given this gorgeous mumma (and dear friend) is going to meet her baby "Thumper" any day now I thought blogging it might get this little munchkin in gear to arrive.

I am waiting on the edge of my seat to hear news, eager to photograph another stunning newborn baby... and I just know this little one will be no exception. It's fair to say that I may indeed be a little 'too' excited, such is my love for life in it's purest and sweetest sense.

A bit of fun.... for the "Yummy Mummy"

Long Family

After winning one of my little competitions Kate and I went in to planning mode to organise a time and place for a fun little family session. When I suggested Woodend as a meeting point (as they live in Shepparton) it all came together as perfect planning. Kate and 'Waz' have family near Woodend and given it's one of my favourite parts of the world (among others) it all fell in to place. Coupled with a gorgeous Winter day I couldn't have asked for a better session.

Norah is a gorgeous little girl, full of loads of facial expressions and a cheeky little smile. She already knows how to work the camera, and loved the playtime. The only difficult part of the session was choosing which photographs to edit down to.

Baby Emile (and his big sister Nabila)

I prefer to photograph newborns within the first 2 weeks, when they are extra specially itty bitty and 'squishy'. However little Emile certainly worked the session at close to 3 weeks old and did a fantastic job amidst all the noise of his big sister Nabila loving all over him and stealing the moment on more than one occasion - and who can blame her, she's gorgeous.

Nabila has a lot to adapt to with a new baby brother in her life, but clearly enjoys her new role as a big sister, and little Emile appears to be rather unphased by all the fuss. He had his moments (as all babies do) but as soon as he calmed and dozed off he became oblivious to all the clicking of my camera and worked the session beautifully.
